Make Office 365 stop replying all by default

Office 365 email accounts will default to reply all when replying to a message instead of replying to the sender only.

This is a bad practice, especially since it’s not the expected behavior of an email client. When you receive an email, the default has always been to reply to the sender only.

I’ve made a short screen cast showing how to change this behavior.

Set Office 365 to reply by default

Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
Click Options (Do not click Office 365 Settings.)
Click Reply settings in the menu on the left. It’s the second-to-last option under Mail.
Click the option next to Reply.
Click Save. If you don’t click Save, it won’t take effect.
Click the <– Options link at the top of the left-side menu.

Now you can reply to emails as you always have. And Reply All is still accessible from the drop-down menu in the message.

Heartbreaking, wonderful remembrance post from Erik Hess.

Despite its beauty, flying is also inherently risky. Hours of boredom could be followed by an unexpected moment that requires all of your skill, luck, and attention to survive. Sometimes even superhuman effort is not enough.

For the sixteen-year duration of my flying career, I was lucky enough to return after every flight. Until a couple of weeks ago, seven of the finest aviators I’ve ever met weren’t able to say the same.

Now that number is eight.

Aphex Twin treasure trove

Lesley informed me there is a treasure trove of new Aphex Twin music. It’s on Soundcloud under the name user48736353001.

Struggling to keep 150+ demos — all with RDJ’s obtuse naming conventions — straight? There is now a multipage Google Document detailing not only the demos, but also RDJ’s discography, song list and gear. We’re told it comes via the intrepid folks over at We Are The Music Makers — big thanks.

It’s very important within a business to keep all layoffs a secret until the person is actually gone. It is good for morale not to alert anyone to an impending departure. It’s especially important if that person works with your group.

It will also be expected that all work that person is doing to be picked up and continue as normal once they leave with no interruption in work.

So please be sure you know what all of your co-workers are doing at any given time on all possible projects and work. Because they could be gone.
