I love this world and my gaming friends. Bungie puts out news about the game on their blog which some of us read religiously and some ignore completely. In an effort to get the information into people&#8217;s hands more easily, I wanted to set up a way to get the new post to our Facebook Group every time Bungie publishes a new update.<\/p>\n<p>I thought this would be simple through <a href=\"http:\/\/ifttt.com\">IFTTT<\/a> but they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ifttt\/comments\/34lwzd\/removal_of_facebook_groups_channel\/\">removed the Facebook Groups channel<\/a>. I learned that each Facebook Group has its own URL and Email address. It&#8217;s usually <strong>Groupname@groups.facebook.com<\/strong>. However, my group&#8217;s address did not work. I had to setup the address since we never had (and didn&#8217;t know we could.)<\/p>\n<p>Facebook provides a good article for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/206871819351594\">creating a web and email address for a group I administer<\/a>. In short, do this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  To create a customized web and email address for a group you admin:<br \/>\n  1. Go to your group page and click the &#8230; in the top-right corner.<br \/>\n  2. Select <strong>Edit Group Settings.<\/strong><br \/>\n  3. Next to <strong>Web and Email Address<\/strong> click Customize Address.<br \/>\n  4. Enter your web and email address.<br \/>\n  5. Click save.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now you&#8217;ll be able to post to your group using that email address as well as being able to access and shared the Group&#8217;s page directly at <strong>http:\/\/facebook.com\/groups\/<em>GroupName<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I used this to create an IFTTT recipe to send Bungie&#8217;s Destiny updates to our clan&#8217;s page.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ifttt.com\/view_embed_recipe\/438310-rss-to-facebook-groups-via-email\" target = \"_blank\" class=\"embed_recipe embed_recipe-l_34\" id= \"embed_recipe-438310\"><img src= 'https:\/\/ifttt.com\/recipe_embed_img\/438310' alt=\"IFTTT Recipe: RSS to Facebook Groups (via email) connects feed to gmail\" width=\"370px\" style=\"max-width:100%\"\/><\/a><script async type=\"text\/javascript\" src= \"\/\/ifttt.com\/assets\/embed_recipe.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This recipe can be used to send <em>any RSS feed<\/em> to <em>any email address.<\/em> Not just for Facebook Groups.
