Windows had decided to hand on to a wireless network so she couldn&#8217;t connect to a new access point.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-partner=\"tweetdeck\"><p>Are you shitting me, Windows 8? And she is right.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  Some tasks, such as deleting a profile, must be done at the command<br \/>\n  prompt. To do these tasks, open Command Prompt, and then type the<br \/>\n  appropriate command from the following table.<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows-8\/manage-wireless-network-profiles\">Manage wireless network profiles &#8211; Windows Help<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At the command prompt you need to type <strong>netsh wlan delete profile name=&#8221;ProfileName&#8221;<\/strong>. This is how you can remove a wireless profile in Windows 8. There had to be a better way.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wifi-profile-manager-windows-8\">And there is.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n  Up to Windows 7, previously connected wireless networks were saved and<br \/>\n  viewable via the Preferred Wireless Network List, but this feature seems<br \/>\n  to have been removed in Windows 8.&nbsp;Microsoft probably&nbsp; removed it as<br \/>\n  they have added a supposedly smart feature, that handles wireless<br \/>\n  profiles by how much you connect to it.<br \/>\n  &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewindowsclub.com\/wifi-profile-manager-windows-8\">WiFi Profile Manager 8: View Preferred Wireless Network Profiles in Windows 8<\/a>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wifi Profile Manager 8 is a freeware application released Lee Whittington for The Windows Club.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/peroty.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Wifi-Profile-Manager-8-1.png?w=629\" alt=\"Wifi Profile Manager 8\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The author notes some people have had success with the application while others have not.
